Sunday, September 8th was our first day together before the ride. We had all traveled many thousands of miles in groups of two from Colorado over the last 3 days. We shook our cobwebs off with a 12 mile bike ride along the Lake Erie bike trail in Fort Erie, Ontario. It was a bit cool and windy but offered great views of Buffalo and the rising sun across the Niagara River. We were impressed with the people and town of Fort Erie.
The British Fort Erie was a a well kept landmark along our ride and reminded us of the different histories between the US and Canada.
We embarked on a wetter adventure with a full tour of Niagara Falls, about 20 miles north of Fort Erie. The views, the roar of the falls and company made for a very enjoyable (and damp) day.
On the “Behind the Falls” tour Ang and I got close and near the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. Very impressive.
Not long after arriving in lovely and swanky Niagara on the Lake early that evening I made Terry a little uncomfortable trying to capture the beauty of all the flowers on display? I bet he’ll get used to me!
Donna, Angela and Len are clearly comfortable being photographed with flowers!
We had a nice dinner and more laughs at Corks Restaurant and then headed back to Fort Erie for a night of rest before we cross back into the good ‘ol US of A and start our cycling adventure along the historic Erie Canal.
