Len, Terry and myself along one of the many “liftable” bridges across the Erie Canal.
Lunch in Brockport at the Custom House.
We saw many more cyclist and well as boats on today’s journey such as working boats on the left and “pleasure” boats that people could rent for a cross country trip on the Erie.
We finally found a lock on the Erie so we had to stop to capture a picture.
We meet many people during our day, some from far away on long journeys as well as locals like Chris who was on an afternoon ride and rode along with us downs while, shared some local knowledge and helped Len find a bike store to get his brakes adjusted.
As the day turned warmer we began jonesing for some ice cream. It was a long enough day that we were hoping to not take a long detour to find some. Our hopes were met when we found a Costco close to the trail and dived into ice cream sundaes to help us complete the last 9 miles.
After showers at the Hilton Garden we exploited the Hilton Happy Hour with adult beverages, an appetizers and entrees.
