Easy, peasy and very enjoyable 30 mile day up and over beautiful Bryce Canyon. After our draining day yesterday we thought we’d treat ourselves to a little more of a relaxing day.
A touristy road made for people to drive through look, stop, and walk around and take in all the canyon splendor.
The road and traffic volume weren’t ideal for cycling on but the park built a very nice rec-path for us cyclists and walkers. And this is one of the few tunnels I didn’t have to worry about traffic in!
We got to Tropic about noon but it took us a while to find a hotel or cabin rental that had a phone or physical presence to get a room. We finally situated ourselves at the Bryce Pioneer Village. We couldn’t check in until after 2 but Tiffany said we could use the pool and hot tub. And I did, for almost two hours with my music playing and only the sky above me. I only needed a cold beer in my hand. It was like I was on vacation!

And then I was joined by perky Jim and Kate who were very chatty, just like my own grandkids. They and their dad and mom, Iris, are Dutch but are expats for a year now in the LA area. The kids and I got to know each other well in the 45 minutes before I left. They were good kids and I enjoyed our little hot tub visit, perhaps not as much as before they arrived?

It was a very nice family/vacation oriented facility with a big campfire, lots of nice outside spaces to relax and the Cowboy Smokehouse restaurant where we had a very nice dinner.
I could take a day like your Sunday. Glad you two got to enjoy it.
