After breakfast at our hotel, language barriers excepted, sorry Jimmy, we take a 30 minute ride on the ferry from Pozoulli to the Isle di Procida where we’ll find our boat. Amos had to use this picture to help identify the pack that he left on the boat for recovery a few hours later. 😬
Jimmy does his best Vanna White impression highlighting the amount of baggage these pirates need for a 7 day trip! Less is not more with the Piratis! Next time we may need sherpas!!
That’s me on the bow of the ferry and the bay at Procida about a mile away.
Bill and Dan saunter out of the belly of the beast, our ferry, to Procida.
Cap’n Steve sits in on the captain’s briefing led by SailIitalia’s Guido. Being an Italian speaking person would certainly help. Sometimes things can be lost in translation, like where the rocks are!!
Dan and I carry on an intellectual debate about whose gelato is the best. Since I write this blog my Nocciolo beats Dan’s Limon hands down! 👏
Procida is a very hilly island. Three of the seven dwarfs (Uncommitted, Angry & Sullen) are marching off to lunch at the top of the steep hill.
Happy now after paninos and vinos are Steve and Bill.
Finally, our boat, the Saint Michele, is ready to be boarded, loaded, learned about and enjoyed.
After a tackle game of football the cabin assignments have been decided. Steve and Dan are in the bow berths…
Wiltsch in the starboard stern…
Amos is in the port stern and….
Jimmy and I (Stuck in the Middle with You-Steelers Wheel” (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ln7Vn_WKkWU ) share the broom closet with bunk beds!
We had a few issues with our first two choices for dinner (closed and belligerent) but our saving grace was this little place near the SailItalia office we had camped out at earlier in the day. We were all jonesing for burgers so we took a virtual trip back to the USA and feasted on burgers, fries, beer & wine. Wiltsch decided to rest on the boat so I’m sure we messed up his nap upon our return.

Jimmy unlatches his jaw like a python to squeeze his burger in. And like pythons we all went into catatonic state when we returned to the Saint Michel with over-full bellys. Then we went to bed. Not a bad day at all and more to come, including actual sailing!
